1. Getting Started

Creating your account

Go to alaga.app and click Create account. Enter your email and a password (minimum 6 characters). You will receive a verification email โ€” click the link inside to activate your account.

Setting up your names

When you first log in, Alaga will ask for two names:

These names appear in the app header and on your printed health reports. You can edit them anytime by clicking the โœ๏ธ pencil icon next to the patient name in the header.

Signing in

After verifying your email, sign in with your email and password. Alaga keeps you signed in across browser sessions. Click ๐Ÿ”’ Lock in the top right to sign out at any time.

๐Ÿ’ก Forgot your password? Click "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen and we'll send a reset link to your email.

2. Overview Dashboard

The Overview is your home screen โ€” a quick snapshot of everything important at a glance.

Summary tiles (top row)

Four clickable tiles show your key numbers. Click any tile to jump directly to that section:

Upcoming Events

Shows your next 5 upcoming appointments and scheduled lab tests. Events happening today are highlighted in red with a โš ๏ธ warning.

Today's Medications โ€” color-coded status

Shows all medications and their scheduled times for today. Each time pill is color-coded:

๐ŸŒฟ Tap any time pill to mark it as given. It turns blue with a โœ“ checkmark. Tap again to undo. This syncs instantly โ€” family members checking the app from another device will see the same status in real time.

3. Vital Signs

Track your loved one's vital signs over time. Click + Log Vitals to add a new entry. You can record:

The latest reading for each vital is shown as a tile at the top of the Vitals tab. All past readings are listed below in chronological order.

4. Medicines

Keep a complete list of all medications. Click + Add Medicine to log a new one. Fields include:

๐Ÿ’ก Enter schedule times in 12-hour format with AM/PM (e.g., 7:00 AM, 5:00 PM). Separate multiple times with commas. These times appear as color-coded pills on the Overview dashboard.

5. Appointments

Never miss a doctor's visit. Click + Add Appointment to log one. You can record:

Past appointments are automatically labelled Past. Upcoming ones are labelled Upcoming.

6. Lab Work & Test Results

Severity 7 and above is highlighted in red as a high-severity entry.

8. Contacts

Store all important contacts in one place. Click + Add Contact. Contact roles include:

Phone numbers are tap-to-call on mobile.

9. Notes

A free-form journal for anything that doesn't fit the other sections โ€” doctor's verbal instructions, observations, family updates, reminders. Click + Add Note and choose a category:

10. Health Report (PDF)

Generate a professional health summary to bring to any doctor's visit. Click the ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Report tab.

๐ŸŒฟ The report includes the patient's name, date range, and an Alaga footer on every page. It is designed to be shared with doctors, specialists, and family members.

11. Free Trial & Subscription

Every new account starts with a 30-day free trial. During the trial you have full access to all features.

As your trial approaches its end, a banner at the top of the app will show how many days (or hours) remain. After the trial ends:

Subscribing is โ‚ฑ/$ 4 per month via PayPal. Click the Subscribe โ€” $4/mo button in the banner and you will be guided through a secure PayPal checkout. Your subscription renews automatically each month.

๐Ÿ’ก Payment failed? PayPal will retry automatically. You will see a warning in the app. If the subscription is suspended after failed retries, you get a 3-day grace period before access is restricted.

12. Data Sync & Security

Alaga syncs your data to the cloud automatically every time you save an entry. This means:

Click the โ†ป refresh button in the header to manually pull the latest data from the cloud (useful when switching between devices).

๐Ÿ”’ All data is stored securely on Supabase (built on AWS). Your health information is encrypted and never shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
